Our K-5th grades are taught Science Curriculum by homeroom teachers. 6th-8th grade students have designated Science teachers below:
Orlosky – (Science) earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biology, and
Physics from Seattle Pacific University. Ms. Orlosky served as head of the 6th–
12th-grade science department at Solomon International School for the last
3years. She was the 6th – 11th science teacher for Cedar Park Christian
schools for another 5 years and served as a science curriculum design lead
during that time. Deeply involved in her church's youth ministry, Ms. Orlosky
enjoys boating, kayaking, and long walks.
Mr. Thomas Murray, 7th Grade Chemistry Teacher
Mr. Murray teaches 7th Grade Chemistry and Geology, and is a 7th grade homeroom teacher. He was formerly Science Department Chair at King's High School for 10 years. He taught science, math and computers at Cedar Park/Bothell and other Christian schools for over 30 years. Prior to his teacher profession, he was a commercial boat builder and was also an Eagle Scout in High School, he received National Merit Letter of Commendation. He wants his students to learn that good science and Christian faith and belief in creation are mutually compatible.
Mrs. Karen Jones, 6th Grade Physical Science Teacher
Mrs. Jones earned her Bachelor of Arts in Education at the
University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. For most of her
teaching experience, she has been in Christian Schools. She came to NCA
in 2006 following three years teaching at a high school in Nenana,
Alaska. While there she worked with 9th – 12th grade students who
traveled from villages without a high school to a small school on the
road system. She still maintains contact with many of her students who
graduated during those three years. One of the things she likes best
about teaching sixth grade is the independent thinking that occurs
during the adolescent years. Mrs. Jones is currently focusing on
developing assignments that encourage the use of technology in achieving
learning outcomes and teaching 6th grade Physical Science.
